Kofi Annan Spoke at Baruch College

Former United Nations General Secretary & Nobel laureate, Mr. Kofi Annan spoke at Baruch College’s Mason Hall on October 23,2014. The Foreign Policy Association invited Mr. Annan to speak at the annual Andrew Carnegie Distinguished Lecture on Conflict Prevention. Mr. Annan’s lecture was entitled as “New World Disorder: Challenges for the United Nations in the 21st Century.”

After his lecture, Mr. Annan took questions from the audience, even though a big number of student body couldn’t make it through due to time limitations.

I was one of those lucky individuals who was able to attend this lecture and book signing program. I checked in at around 4:50pm and was presented his new book “We the Peoples: A UN for Twenty-First Century“. At the end of his lecture, I was also able to get my book autographed by him. Took pictures real quick and shook my hand with him. It was an honor to meet with Mr. Annan.

Because of my hectic schedule, I still couldn’t finish reading his book. However, I am looking forward to finish it as early as possible. So, yeah expect a book review soon.
