Here we are once again, celebrating the International Mother Language Day. Today also marks the 68th anniversary of Language Movement Day, an event that eventually led to the inception of IMLD to begin with.

This years, it is particularly important for me on a personal level. Back in 2018, I took an initiative to collect and preserve Bengali literary works on a website. Somehow, I lost my interest soon after and I don’t even know when I lost the domain name as well.
Few weeks back I woke up one morning with a sense of responsibility to work on that site once again. Soon I realized that the domain name has expired way back and had not been renewed. I had to re-purchase the domain name and over the past few weeks I myself and few of my friends worked day and night to re-store the site.
As I am writing this post on the eve of 21st February, I am more than happy to inform you all that finally the site is live and we have managed to add more than thousands of literary works on our site already. I fully understand that we got lot more work that needs to be done and it’s a long term project that needs to be looked after on regular basis. However, it’s a commitment to ourselves and God willing, we will keep it going as long as we are here.
Happy International Language Day to everyone.
